On November 9th, 2010, "The 5" did a presentation about Breast Cancer. Their research question was: What is the Susan G. Koman Project and how has Breast Cancer awareness developed from it? The biggest we're raising awareness and raising money.
During their presentation they talked about methods of treatment.
-Chemotherapy: is the treatment of an ailment by chemicals especially by killing micro-organisms or cancerous cells.
-Surgery: medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a patient to investigate and/or treat a pathological condition such as disease or injury, to help improve bodily function or appearance.
-X-ray to kill Cancer cells
They said that more than likely you must combine two treatments for it to be effective.
For those with the cancer in nedd of treatment, the foundation designs care plans based on:
-The specific type of breast cancer
-The stage of the breast cancer
-Other medical issues
-The individual's personal preferences
