The End: Self- Reflection

Well Freshman Seminar 2010 has finally come to an end. No more lectures in Just Hall Auditorium, meetings in the Annex, and my favorite thing no more blog entries. I’ve must say it was quite a journey. Freshman Seminar is not exactly what I thought it would be. I expected it to be lessons for the incoming freshman on being a student and few rules to follow being at Howard. Clearly, I was wrong. I cannot say I was disappointed at all with what really came out of Freshman Seminar though. I got to be lectured by Professors I might not ever have the opportunity to witness lecture again. I learned a little something about Howard and its past, but most importantly I learned about Africa, my ancestors.
Each lecture brought something new to mind. Make me form an opinion about everyday life and what I could do to change my ways or habits of others. I learned the history of the buildings I attend class in, how the number one HBCU was founded by a white man, and how to present research. As a freshman student my mind has broaden with knowledge from peers and professors. The way I live and what I do has been questioned a couple times. Forming into groups I had the opportunity to meet some cool freshman that resides in a different place then I. I can’t say every lecture was very exciting and I was excited to go to class every Tuesday, but I can say it was informative. I enjoyed during the blogs and think it brought out the creativity and self- expression within us that might not have been showcased without during blogs. With that said
I’m DONE !
